On request - socks for N

N said that she was cold and wanted socks. This is the first time she states that and being a kind mother I went ahead. I'm not a sock knitting person (the bambo socks are still not ready).

But for a blue eyed daugther with shoe size 27 - how hard can it be.

I found this sock yarn in my stash and used a pattern frpm Järbo for miniraggi.
Then of cause A also wanted a pair, the nice bigger sister went away and "helped" me. It would have been much better if I had taken the time and opportunity and fastened the loose end first.

Syfestivalen and Sunday projects

I went to Syfestival in Älvsjö and spent a good time with friends and also attended the Sticka meeting. A nice gift was the mystery knitting kit and two skeins of Rauma finull.
I thought I didn't by much yarn, wool to make socks for the girls (asked for!) and cotton yarn to make a dress for N and flower sweater for N, since the one I made years ago is not fitting A in size. The wooden eggs are from Ukraine and will look great on the dining table for easter.
It all went well to the final half-hour when something happened and I thought it would be a great idea to buy 1.5 kg of something to crochet a carpet. I still need to understand how to create a ball and how to work with it in my lap.....
I'm now knitting with the pink Eco cotton to make a dress for N, I think that Hetty looks really nice. I'm making it longer and maybe will also decorate it.

Otherwise Sunday was spent with the kids. Here is the results of mine and N's work with beads.

Fiddlehead mittens ready

I've completed my Fidlehead mittens. I made them on 2,5 mm so they are right in size for me without the alpaca lining. Maybe next time.

I've used them today in the park and they are nice and soft.

They were my February project in 12under12under2012.

One advantage with the cold

I've moved all my yarn outside to the balcony. Last year I bought the cloth covers at IKEA and I now using them to keep my boxes (and baskets, and bags and...) with yarn. To my defense, I have also put in some knitwear and the "bags" arn't completely full. I might have some room left in my stash to increase it during Syfestivalen.

I'm not sure that we have bugs in the house now. This will hopefully save my yarn but I still needs to figure out what to do with the rest of the house.

Central Park Hoodie - first attempt

- I did swatch! (even chanegd the needles to 4.5 mm)
- I did even swatch and compared my alternative cable!
- I measured after starting the cables and thought I got it, I was wrong!
2 skein scompleted and starting on the 3rd - sometimes I'm a slow learner....

So now I've restarted in one size bigger :-)

Luckely, knitting is the fun part.

The yarn is a Debbie Bliss and bought years ago at a sale at Marias garn. I first planned to make Rogue Hoddie but changed my mind since I think I'll use cardigans more and the cable on Rogue is too beautiful to split in two. I'll keep it on my list.

February UFO

Time for the next challange - my own fight with my UFO pile.During February I want to finish the first thumb and the full second mitten of Fiddlehead mittens. If I do the lining of not will depend on the size, I started with 3 mm and then thought they became too big, change to 2,5mm and now they might be too narrow to have lining. But some alpaca would be nice.
The yarn is from Mejeriet om Gotland (dangerous "candy" store).
