FO November baby cardigan

I've completed the baby cardigan. I can't decide if I like selfstriping yarns when the color effect is so different depending on row length. This turned out OK.

I also heard news so I think I know who to give it to, in due time.

Pippi sweater completed - almost in time

The birthday was yesterday and today the sweater was completed.
The pattern is an own creation inspired by a number of patterns for 10-12 year olds.

I hope it will fit and be liked. Time to wrap it and mail it towards the Kalmar area.

Twined mittens, October FO

I managed to complete the October UFO project. My first pair of twined mittens are completed and ready to be worn (when dried). I also managed 4-thread braids.

It has been fun taking up twined knitting and I realised that I have some more yarn at home, already invested. So nothing stops me for (at least) plannnig yet another project.

Isn't this the classical way to get more UFOs. Not that I've run out of them yet but the percentage of larger projects have increased as I've completed some "low hanging fruits".

September FO - fingerless mittens Fallberry completed

Last day of the month and the September UFO is now a FO. I ended up with changing pattern and restart.
I found the original pattern again on Knitty but couldn't figure out the needle size. Browsing on Knitty I also found Fallberry so I decided to change pattern.

And just in time for Fall I have a new pair of fingerless mittens.

The needle size is 3mm and I used Blue Sky Alpacas (sport Weight?).

Avigmaskans KAL - Lydia socka completed

I'm a bit surprised that I actually finished both of them - and they fit!
I made them a bit longer, 60 instead of 40 rounds.

August FO completed

I've completed the cardigan/coat that I started to big sister N some 3.5 years ago.
It is completed "just-in-time" before A is too big I think. But it is the season for wool cardigans.
The yarn is do-redo and bought at Marias garn on a sale some yeras ago.

Alpaca cardigan completed (left to wash)

I've completed the cardigan, just need to wash it again to get the lamp oil stench out and then it should be ready to wear when the fall comes.

The stripes on the sleeves reminds me of this - I didn't planned for it but I like it!

Vacation knitting - sweater for N in Muskat soft

After showing this pattern to N she wanted one. I managed to find the pink (surprise!) color combination at Ljungqvist during the supersale. I bought 7 skeins which was good since the 6 indicated in the pattern wan't sufficient (OK - I made it 3 cm longer).  The color comination isn't as blue IRL- feature of the flash.

I havn't yet seen it on her so I hope she will like it. I ommitted the lace on the sleeves, I have a feeling she will get stuck in everything if they are there.

A plain and very good vacation knitting, I'm not yet sure about the yarn, it looks a bit dirty as the colors changes

Babette blanket puzzle completed

I managed to complete the puzzle without losing one piece.

I've used the yarn from my Lucy striped granny blanket. One of very few projects in acrylic yarn.
I havn't blcoket it yet - being acrylic I'm not sure it will change. The smallest squares became a bit too big.
This has been a great project and I can see myself doing a second one. I like to use me wool yarn stash but still make the blanket a bit bigger. To be added to my dream list of future project.

Cardigan ready - FO May

In 12under12under2012 I didn't complete my April UFO so it developed into UFO May.
It was close that it stayed that way in May also but I managed to complete one of the childrens cardigans.
I knitted them for N when she was between 2-3 years (she is now 5). Little sister A has now turned 2 years so I hope that she can use them. This cardigan is made using my "standard" pattern, Strawberry Bud, from Rowan. This time without the buds. The yarn is bought at Yll o Tyll (I think) and is an eco cotton from either Huskroken och Regnbåge....

The colors aren't as orange as the flash makes them.

Springtime Bandit XL with an edge

Completed and mailed to my dear J. I hope it will warm you.

It is almost 2 m wide. I made multiple base pattern and also added an edge from this book.

Flower sweater ready

N stated that she wanted a new flower sweater since the first one no fits her little sister A.
She asked for one in black with beige sleeves.

Of cause orders can be altered, no beige - just black. (Stupid mom not to think of all options at Syfestivalen and not invest in sufficient stock for all possible alternatives!)

After some negotiations pink and striped sleeves were OK. I think I had 23 cm left of the black yarn when ready. 0 of the darker and about 10 m of the ligt pink.

Now it just remains to see if she will wear it .

Socks for N

Another project completed from my newly added stash.
I used a pattern from Järbo for traditional raggsockor.

A work-out and a bit disappointed

At syfestivalen I bought a kit to crochet a rag carpet. 1.6 kg and hook nr 10.This was not a relaxing project, more of a work-out. There was nothing smoth in the work.
Even if the finished size is OK in some ways I ran out of "yarn" 5 rows before the pattern was over. So the carpet has no second pattern border och picot edge.

Maybe next time - or not.

Hjärtkatt number 2 ready

When I made a Hjärtkatt this Spring N wanted an exactly the same. Now that is finally and my March project in 12under12under2012 is completed well in time.

On request - socks for N

N said that she was cold and wanted socks. This is the first time she states that and being a kind mother I went ahead. I'm not a sock knitting person (the bambo socks are still not ready).

But for a blue eyed daugther with shoe size 27 - how hard can it be.

I found this sock yarn in my stash and used a pattern frpm Järbo for miniraggi.
Then of cause A also wanted a pair, the nice bigger sister went away and "helped" me. It would have been much better if I had taken the time and opportunity and fastened the loose end first.

Fiddlehead mittens ready

I've completed my Fidlehead mittens. I made them on 2,5 mm so they are right in size for me without the alpaca lining. Maybe next time.

I've used them today in the park and they are nice and soft.

They were my February project in 12under12under2012.

Stjärnhop UFO -> FO

I'm done. I still havn't counted all the border stiches but it is ready, washed, blocked and also worn. It is huge and I like it a lot.

Happy happy!!!
It's also the my first project completed in 12under12under2012.
